    Heck gyro AC-3X drifting??

    Hello,

I have the AC-3X in my MP-XL-V91, and I love this small peace off electronic art!!

    Bud,

I have a problem with the heck gyro from the AC-3X, the BLS 251 (servo type 3) is drifting slowly!! The higher I put the Integral factor the faster it will drift,
also the more system gain I Giff the faster the servo will drift, when I put the Integral factor to 0 it stops drifting.

I tested the gyro with a Futaba S9254 (servo type 1 and 2) with the same result (drifting!!), so I am sure the BLS 251 is OK.

This is with 0% input in the display, and no trim used in the transmitter (Futaba T12FG)

All this is with the engine off!!

The tail also drifts slowly when flying!!

I can understand that the tail drifts because off vibes from the engine, bud
what I like to know is if its normal that the tail drifts when the engine is off ??

Before the AC-3X I used the 601 gyro from Futaba, that gyro never had this problem, and was rock steady.

    Grub,

    Mario

    AW: Heck gyro AC-3X drifting??

    Hello Mario,

with VBar you would check whether the stick shows some drift around center, and compensate for this either by having your tx repaired (the potentiometers in the gimbals don't last forever OR are bad from the beginning, maybe) OR by increasing rc dead zone some points.

Dunno whether AC-3X has these features since I've never had one.

    Regards

    Eddi

Did you set the trims and subtrims of your transmitter to 0% (neutral)? For the trims in all flight modes?
Does your AC-3X display show 0% for the tail after initialization?

I´d check with Plöchi, he´ll know. I have no drift what so ever with my AC3X.

            AW: Heck gyro AC-3X drifting??

            Hi Mario,

            I see this drift also.
It dures in the first 6 Minutes flying approx. 30 seconds until the tailservo would have travelled to endstop.
This is the time, when most Acrobats SE etc finish flying due to liporange.
It is difficult, to observe the drifting in 6 Minutes and you have no disturbance.
But on my AC3X the drifting time reduces rapidly after the 6 minutes- in 10 minutes flying it needs only 8 secondes to drift the servo from center to one side stop!
And after 12 Minutes for example the tailservo is in 4 seconds drifted to end stop. This is not good flying the NT .
This drifting is observed with 3 Servos 9256.
I am in contact with Stefan Plöchinger and Christian Samuelis.
Because I love the swashplate with AC3X (I feel it absolutely perfect ) I will send back my AC3X to control only when the second is delivered.
In the meantime I have a GY 611 for the tailcontrol in NT.
PS: I must fly the VStabi also in this combination, due to e-sensor in my 2007 VStabi.

            You have my best regards.

              Hi Otto,

I am also in contact with Stefan about this, and I'm shore he will solve this out!!

My MP-XL fly's perfect with the AC-3X on the swash, bud the tail ain't at the same level as the 601 gyro because of the slow (very slow!!) drifting, its flyable bud not as perfect as I wood like it to be!!

Next week I will get my Leuschner tuned engine and I hope this will give a better result because off the lesser vibes (I hope!!) than the OS RZ-H I use now.

My second new MP-XL that I ordered yesterday will get a AC-3X to, that's for shore

              Grub,

              Mario
