Zimmerman 2 piece exhaust

Hallo,
I have been asking in the engine forum about my problem that my plug gets black after a few flights and also the piston has a dark color (see "Too rich or to lean") I use the zimmerman 2 piece exhaust (reso pipe + after damper) and the reso-distance is 39cm, that is with the reso pipe direct against the manifold. Someone adviced me that the distance is maybe a little too long and sugests 36,5-37,5 cm. To do that i have to shorten the manifold from the engine to the reso pipe. Does anybody else uses this exhaust and has shortened the distance? Hope you can help me!

Hi,

the distance can be 38cm to 42cm! Some where in between is ok. what kind of fuel do you use? What type of glow-plug do you use? I don´t realy thing that your problem has something to do with your muffler-distance. Check out your oil-content in %´ige in your fuel. If the procentige is too low, you shoud try a diffrent type of fuel!!!

Zimmerman 2 piece exhaust

Hallo Markus, Thanks for your reply! I use Coolpower 12,5% and 15% with an Enya 3 plug. I also tried an Enya 4, but then it doesn´t run very smooth during hoovering.
