    3D MP What headspeed?

    Hello guys
What headspeed do you run your MP on?
    I have Tango 45-07 Jazz 55-10-32 and 10S akku

    On 11T
    Jazz @ 60% gives 1800 U/s
    Jazz @ 80% gives 1950 U/s
    Jazz @ 100% gives 2100 U/s 8o

    On 10T
Jazz @ 85% gives 1850 U/s which is very nice
Jazz @ 95% gives 2000 U/s which is a bit fast in the hover.

What headspeed did Jan design the MP for?
In the UK a lot of guys are running Jazz at 50% - 75% with no problem is this OK?

    Sorry I have no German

    Hi Reesy,

I run on the same setup as you and on 11T I get:

    @ 48% : 1620
    @ 62% : 1830 (this I fly most of the time)
    @ 75% : 1920

So comparable to yours. I believe the Jazz holds up very well with these settings.

To my knowledge the MP was designed for high headspeeds (1900-2100) but it can be flow at 1500-1600 without any problems. I have seen Jan fly (and spoken to him in person) at a fly-in in Januari in Erftstadt and he flies between 1500 (for hovering) and 2100 (hi-speed passes).

I'm interested in the 10T. Does it reduce power consumption? Is the headspeed maintained better at, say, 1950 rpm?

      Hello Francis
A few of the UK guys have been trying a 10T konion (pinion)
I felt 2000+ was too much but Mike (kontronik) said to run the Jazz at 85%+

On 10T my MP feels very good but ..

Right now I am running 85% idle1 for general flying +- 11 deg
and idle2 92% with +-13 pitch for impressing the IC guys

It flies very well but I think I would go back to 11T with 55% for general flying and 80%+ for mad flying if the Jazz will be OK

        Paul,

I have the Schulze/Plettenberg Combo with an 11 tooth pinion.

I do not use a governor - Tx set-up with V-curves and mixers similar to an IC engine. Once everything is set up properly, there is no bogging anytime.

Checked today, and headspeed was 1610 at 60% (Futaba). I'll probably go up to 70% at 0 pitch because that'll give me faster forward flight at low pitch values.

Even at 1600 and +/-12, I have trouble landing this beast smoothly, so most of the time I just hit the auto switch and let it settle down.

All I can say is that the Schulze 32.55k ESC with its big heat sink has never exceeded 56°C / 133°F, even after flying a full pack at 50%. The Kontronik has a much smaller heat sink. At 55%, I would check temperature after 5 minutes, just to make sure.
