Hi Judith,
this might become a bit difficult now as this is mainly a German speaking board, so your mileage may vary... I am assuming that you actually live in Germany, otherwise you might want to find a board in your country, which would be easier. (Where do you come from?)
In addition, most people here do not regard their RC helis as "toys". This is important to know as most of these helis can actually kill you when you don't really know what you're doing.
Anyway, as you are writing about kids etc., I am assuming that what you are actually looking for is a toy which can be controlled easily and won't harm you, even if you try to fly it through yourself.
If this is correct, you should maybe look for something like the Blade mCX2 (aka MH-35).
However, you should consider two things, even for this one:
- The special batteries need some care and should be handled properly. Otherwise (best case), they get old and cease working early or (worst case) they start to burn.
- The heli will crash and something will break. This means that you will need to repair it. This might take some time as well.
Where to buy: If there is no shop in your area, which sells them, just google... At least for these small ones, I don't see much issues in buying them online.
Regards,
Thorsten

Judith,
not much I could add to the previous statement - except introducing the Blade MQX as an alternative to start with.
Of course it is a quad and no helicopter but as I am a starter as well I can only say: This little thing rocks! You have the success you need to stay motivated but as well the challenge to really control this little "beast"...
Enjoy your new hobby!
Cheers

I am not exactly sure what kind of advice you are looking for. You can just check the internet (google) using the models which have been mentioned in the earlier posts.
It is more important to get a model which suits your abilities than where to buy it...
Anyway, e.g.: https://www.freakware.de/shop/artike...735&set_lang=2Zuletzt geändert von Gast; 07.03.2013, 11:37.

If personal contact to your local hobby shop is important for you, maybe we can suggest some shops, but you have to tell us in which area in Germany you live.

As far as I understand, Judith is a total beginner. I.e. your suggestions might not be appropriate.Zitat von johannes0309 Beitrag anzeigenShape Helicopter Shape 9.0

This becomes a bit difficult now. I am not sure whether there is really a good outdoor helicopter which is easy to fly and safe enough. The easy ones are the ones with the two rotors on top of each other, but they stop being fun with only the slightest wind.
Maybe you should check out the Blade mQX. This might not really look like a helicopter typically looks like, but most people like it.

Well Judith "best outdoor" is a task!!
Usually outdoor helicopters are the "bigger ones" .... heavy and certainly a lot more tolerant in regards of wind influence - BUT if you crash them into ground and if you never flew any Helicopter before you will crash it!!! Then it will become expensive.
I am a beginner as well and would recommend a step by step approach:
Buy a Sim for your PC including a transmitter ( DX6i plus Phönix for example ) and get started in the virtual world.
In parallel you could buy one of "entry level copters" to start with ( you'll find many recommendations in this forum ) indoors !!!
I started with an MQX as well and even this is some kind of a challenge.
A good friend of mine started with a T-REX 450 ( for about 350€ ), crashed it twice and each repair has cost him about 100€... then he put the 450 in a corner and bought a SIM and MSR-X....

As said Judith I am not yet really an expert here - There is only thing I can tell from my experience:Zitat von judith222 Beitrag anzeigenYou and your friend have a great beginner helicopter. But what you say about 4 channel remote controlled helicopter Carbon. If you have any idea so please tell me.Is it best for beginner choice.
As long as we don't talk about Coax Helicopters you will crash them! Especially if you start outdoors when wind influence kicks in.
So again no matter of material I would recommend something like a Phönix SIM + DX6i combination ( or comparable ) plus a Quadcopter or LIGHTWEIGHT small Helicopter like MSRx or comparable stuff.
Even if they fall down... they nearly do not break due to their low weight! And even if they do - spareparts are cheap!!!
Your choice and decision - of course a 450 class or 550 is more sexy !!! But there will be time for them... ;-)
